Oops ..

EDITTED for March 24th update ..

I just spent an entire pretty much navigating random buttons because I forgot how to make a weblog ... but alas I found it anyway ...

Random goals for the next 8-ish months, will try to check in 4 months from now. Not very likely for any of these goals to come to fruition ... since I will probably forget them a week from now. But at least they're being written down now!

1) 75%+ average for the rest of my credits until grad ... mightn't seem difficult for people outside of EE (actually, mightn't be that difficult period but we're following my standards, lol)

Might be slightly harder than first thought but still attainable.

2) At least 3 extra credits on top of grad requirements.

6 ... but probably shouldn`t have taken 499.

3) Sleep/eat more routinely (early to bed, early to rise ...)

Miserable failure.

4) Eat healthier, smaller meals (but more often), a lot less carbs and sugars

Not sure, but I think I eat a little less now .... due to long lineups at Timmy`s and the SUB being too far to walk in the rain ...

5) Pick up reading non-fiction, attempt #8927

Read a handful of books, I`ll give this a pass for now, although I`ve stopped reading due to school.

6) Network more at work ...

Kinda failed, although I'm not at fault for this as much as I could be.

7) Find a job before I grad

Applied to only like 4 jobs or something so far, so this is likely to fail.

8) Organize a trip to HK after I grad ... but this might be THE YEAR (Canuck fans you get it)

lol I went over winter break

9) Actually learn relevant things at work

Pass with flying colours!

... that's all I can think of for now ...

I have recently taken a liking to Xanga. Facebook doesn't really feel private anymore, even if you can restrict your privacy settings all you want. It's also become somewhat less of a social networking utility, and a bit more of 'sit-there-and-refresh-cuz-I'm-bored' thing. It almost feels like it's geared more towards a younger generation now.

I like Xanga, even only if one or two people will ever see this, I really don't mind. This may have well be a private entry because of it, haha. In fact I think I'd rather have people that I know better see this random weblog entry than everyone on FB. It's become a modern standard to befriend someone on Facebook after you've met them once. Surely you'd like to get to know them better, but to be honest, chances are there are a lot of people on facebook that you don't know very well. And while it's better to keep in contact with everyone somehow, there's some level of 'closeness' I'd like to achieve with people before I share more private things with them, so you won't see my Xanga linked with my Facebook. I think this might be just me though. There aren't very many 'private' things or dark secrets persay, but I'd rather have someone learn more about me in person than what they see over the interwebs. I want something like Xanga and Facebook to be a secondary form of socializing.

I wonder how many employers run background checks on Facebook, haha. I don't think they'd bother going through Xanga though.

一個都不能少

I just watched this. You should too!

"The film centers on a 13-year-old substitute teacher, Wei Minzhi, in the Chinese countryside. Called in to substitute for a village teacher for one month, Wei is told not to lose any students. Thus, when one of the boys takes off in search of work in the big city, she goes looking for him. The film addresses issues of educational reform in China, the gap between urban and rural, and the prevalence of bureaucracy and authority figures in everyday life. It is filmed in a neorealist/documentary style with a troupe of non-professional actors who play characters with the same names and occupations as they have in real life, blurring the boundaries between drama and reality."
